This is Part 2 of a 2-part series called Beyond The Grave. I read the first part, The Seer's Daughter, a couple of weeks ago and shrieked about that here because I LOVED it. I do think that you need to read The Seer's Daughter first; while this book contains some call-backs and summary, there's a lot that you would miss about the plot if you hadn't read the first book.
That said, go the hell out and buy both of these books now because they are freaking FANTASTIC. I am not exaggerating when I say this is some of the best romantic suspense I have ever read, paranormal or otherwise; I literally couldn't put down The Alchemist's Son until I got to the final, thrilling climax.
Athena Daniels is an incredible writer and I absolutely love her work. The characters are believable, the sex scenes are HAWT, the writing is tight, the plot is coherent, suspenseful and unique... I don't know what more you could possibly want from a book.
I'd love to give it ten stars, but five will have to do.
